plz..read and give us your idea .
Mars, the red planet and our nearest semi-inhabitable neighbor, remains much of a mystery despite numerable satellite and rover missions. For years, scientists assumed that all the water on Mars had evaporated or collected in the polar ice caps. This is significant becuase life as we know it requires water to grow and thrive.
New images from the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera installed on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) reveal something strange that has NASA scientists scratching their heads. The above image shows an area of steep cliffs on the surface of Mars where dark patters appear and fade over time. Scientists believe this to be evidence of water on the planet's surface.
“The best explanation we have for these observations so far is flow of briny water," said HiRISE principal investigator Alfred McEwen. "It's more like a syrup in how it flows."
It's highly likely that these patterns are not water running down the side of the cliffs, but instead are subsurface flows. Until further studies are done, water on Mars remains a mystery.
